“Whole30 will change your life. We’re referring to your health, habits, and relationship with food”
When I opened up a loaned cookbook, I was greeted with this line. The past three weeks have been insane to say the least, but at the top of it all, a client wound up introducing me to “Whole30”.
I did hours of reading upon the referral, followed by lots of time spent on the Internet and even some purchasing of a few new books.
Whole 30 is a nutritional program designed to change the way you feel and eat in just 30 days. In a nutshell, you remove all of the potentially inflammatory foods and beverages in your diet. This is referring to added sugar/sweeteners, alcohol, grains, legumes, dairy, processed foods & beverages, baked goods, and junk foods. You also need to eat three ‘clean’ meals a day, make with Whole30 approved ingredients: meats, seafood, veggies, and eggs.
Upon researching I found myself reading all of the labels at the grocery store and I ending up putting things back on the shelf when I read ingredients I could not pronounce. I end up driving my vendors crazy because I am always asking for ingredients and labels (lol!).
I cook real food that is not going to leave you hungry. My new clients are entitled to me addressing their needs and their health. There is always going to be new challenges that I come across when doing so, but I always tackle them and find alternative methods and recipes. I enjoy all of my feedback and take it to heart, changing the way I do some things to better suit their needs. Time and health have ended up being the two most precious assets that I have when it comes to cooking for my clients. We don’t recognize and appreciate them until they have been depleted. I am happy to help every client that hires me, and treasure these things with every meal.
